My target audience have very strong personalities, each one having different traits about them, but each all possess some of the same qualities such as; they enjoy life and school, are very confident, hard working, and friendly. They all have different hobbies and interests they like to participate in, these can range from sport such at football and netball, to after school clubs such as chess, science and art. Each one likes music, magazines and films but every one of them a different type (rock, r ‘n’ b, pop) or genre (horror, romance, comedy, action).

The target audience I am appealing to all have very hard work ethic and thrive to become the best they can possibly be, they attain good levels of achievement in all of their projects and essays. Home work in constantly on time and always to a high standard, they are very punctual for every lesson and respect not only the teachers and the people around them but themselves too. Being such a hardworking community, my target audience all have needs that Get Ready! tries to accomplish throughout the magazine; simple but rewarding needs such as; Advice as how to find a job, tips on how to keep on top of your studies and work, and directions as to which path they should follow in currently and in the future. Not just this but they need some alleviation to help them get through their studies and take some weight off their shoulders, instead of having the constant strain of school upon them. The target audience will find this magazine very useful because it will help them achieve their goals and show them how to do well in sixth form but at the same time have a little bit of fun, to balance it out between social life and school life.

Introduction to my genre!

We "heart pop" magazine!
Top of the pops magazine
I have decided that for my music magazine for AS level media studies I am going to base my music magazine around POP! I got the inspiration from these two magazines "We Love Pop." and "top of the pops". I choose these two magazines because they are both top selling pop magazines that are widely read by many 14-19 year old's. We Love Pop inspired me because it is an up to date magazine that only first launched in 2011, and has since been a very successful and popular magazine. I was also inspired by top of the pops magazine because it has been on sale for almost 20 years, and has been able to maintain its success over the years to make it one of England's top read teen mag. I wanted to base my music magazine round the genre of pop because this is the genre of music I mainly listen too. I also thought that aiming my magazine at a younger audience such as teenagers to young adults would be a lot easier than aiming it at really young children or adults. I based this decision on the fact that I am a teenager myself and it would be easier for me to base my music magazine on a genre I listen to and a genre that a lot of younger people like to listen too, because i am a young female fan of pop myself, i felt that i was able to relate to the target audience of my magazine better and be more clued up to how to satisfy their needs; due to the fact we both possess the same qualities and likes and dislikes.

Questionaire

This is my questionnaire I had to carry out to find out what my target audience wanted to see in my music magazine and also how regularly and how much they would pay for a high quality magazine. I gave my questionnaire out to 25 women between the ages of 17 and 24 who fitted into my target audience so I was able to get a better understanding of what they want and need from my music magazine. I wanted to find out, what I should include in my magazine to make it sell better and appeal to a bigger audience; i also wanted to find out what celebrities should feature so I am able to give my target audience what they want.
